Japanese Scroll 1

Traditional scroll beginning twentieth century, 45 x 112 cm.

Japanese Scroll

Bought from an antiquarian in Debbington near Banbury, GB, in 2016. No more than number 2 it contains a haiku but it represents the haiku spirit: 静 観 無 我 = sei-kan muga: “To perceive calmly – no self.” Peaceful observation without interference of your own reactions: emotions or ideas.
