Hermanus (Herman) Brood (Zwolle, november 5, 1946 – Amsterdam, July 11, 2001) was a Dutch singer, painter, pianist, actor and author. Brood stood out by his remarkable singing voice and musical diversity. He was the embodiment of the Dutch hedonist credo Sex, drugs & rock ‘n’ roll.

Wasted by alcohol and drugs, he jumped a few months before his fifty-fifth birthday with a farewell note in his pocket towards death from the Amsterdam Hilton hotel.

He had a lot of friends and loved his mother very much.
